East Hartford, CT , May 21, 2007 - Cisco Systems has recognized Total Communications, Incorporated, as 2006 Vertical Select Partner of the Year - Healthcare. Total Communications is one of the largest telephone equipment dealers in Connecticut and a Cisco Premier Partner.

The award was announced at the Cisco Worldwide Partner Summit in Las Vegas in April and officially presented at Total Communications headquarters in East Hartford on May 21, 2007. Total earned this nationwide recognition because of their projects for healthcare organizations, including multi-site converged voice and data networks and wireless networks. Tom Donahue, Major Account Representative for Total Communications, has focused on the healthcare field and developed significant expertise in Healthcare IT issues. He conducts informative seminars for Healthcare IT executives. Donahue’s projects and activities were instrumental in Total’s selection for this nationwide award.

The award was presented by Tony DeFrancesco, Business Development Manager, Healthcare Vertical Select Program, and Mike Saviano, Channel Account Manager for Cisco Systems.

In his 25 year career, Donahue has managed communication systems for leading New England businesses, ranging from an 800 branch regional bank to critical care hospitals. His projects have been profiled in iQ Magazine and eWeek and featured on the Cisco web site as “Cisco Success Stories”. Donahue earned a Sales Expert Certification and Account Manager status in IP Communications and Wireless Networking from Cisco Systems.
